Objectives for this program are:

  1. Learn when and how this type of device should be utilized
  2. Explore the appropriate anatomical sites where this type of device can be placed
  3. Become familiar with the care and maintenance of this type of device
  4. Understand how to remove this type of device.

Sam Liang, RN, BSN, VA-BC  Sam placed her first PICC in 2003 and has been a passionate vascular access nurse ever since. She developed and coordinated the Pediatric PICC team at UCLA, and has experience on the IV/PICC team at Los Angeles Children’s, Scottsdale Healthcare’s PICC Service, and most recently Infusion Therapy at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Currently she works for Teleflex, Arrow as a Clinical Education Manager in their vascular division providing education related to vascular access throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.
