Rescheduled 19th Annual AVA Conference was a success!
Just over 500 vascular access professionals and leaders converged upon the breathtaking city of Savannah for the rescheduled 19th Annual AVA Conference January 12 – 15. Before the meeting kicked off, half of the attendees participated in the AVA/SIR Pre-Conference “Partners in Practice-Interventional Radiology Advances in Vascular Access: A Clinical Forum by AVA and SIR” where they learned about the latest breakthroughs in the advancement of non-invasive vascular techniques. A forecast into the future of the healthcare environment and challenges facing healthcare professionals provided by Keynote Speaker Madge. E. Buus-Frank, RNC, MS, ARNP began Thursday’s events.
The general sessions throughout the week inspired and informed access professionals about the latest in infection prevention, pathophysiology of endothelial health, PICC/vascular access in acute care settings, dialysis catheters, patient safety, and standards of infusion therapy. Breakout sessions provided more specific access topics, like engineered safety device versus tape for securing IV catheters, while workshops provided in-depth and in some instances hands-on education like the MST and Ultrasound workshop. It wasn’t all work and no fun at the 19th Annual AVA Conference. Mingling, networking, eating, and dancing late into the night was the scene at the AVA Party sponsored by BD Medical on Friday night.
Thank you to everyone who attended the 19th Annual AVA Conference.
