FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 9, 2019 – Today the Association for Vascular Access (AVA), in collaboration with Medline Industries, Inc., announced a new, innovative portal housing historical vascular access research published in the Journal of the Association for Vascular Access (JAVA).

Available to all AVA members and journal subscribers at the journal's website, the JAVA Legacy Content is an archive of vascular access-related content dating back more than 20 years and made available to AVA members, journal subscribers and healthcare research enthusiasts. The portal was made possible through Medline’s investment in published vascular access material.

“AVA is thrilled with Medline’s commitment to advancing and proliferating Vascular Access research,” AVA CEO Ramzy Nasrallah said. “This archive now delivers quality scientific material to clinicians studying and improving the specialty. Working with Medline to make this a reality for healthcare is emblematic of AVA’s philosophy around openly and judiciously collaborating with industry.”

The JAVA Legacy Content archive was developed through an agreement with Medline and AVA’s publishing services partner, Allen Press Publishing, Inc.

“Education is critical to advancing this growing specialty area,” says Angela Zuick, RN, BSN, CCRN, VA-BC™ and Director of Clinical Services, Medline. “Medline is proud to continue its partnership with AVA to make this unique resource possible to improve how clinicians care for and manage patients with vascular access devices.”
