So You Want to Start a New AVA Network?

Starting A Vascular Access Network (VAN)

The first step in starting a Network in your area is to determine if there is an interest. Contact professionals involved with Vascular Access in any specialty in your area who might be interested in a networking organization devoted to providing optimal patient care and outcomes.

Set up Network discovery meeting to identify potential officers, supporters and members.

  1. Find a convenient meeting place for your discovery meeting.  Try your local hospitals, health care companies or local restaurants.
  2. Elect or designate network officers.  A minimum of 2 members responsible for reporting and finance management is required. All network officers MUST maintain their AVA membership.
  3. Name your Network. (See Branding Guidelines for help).
  4. Start thinking about a logo.   (See Branding Guidelines for help).  Contact AVA if you need a graphic design contact.

Step 2: fill out initial application to start a network

After you have your discovery meeting, fill out the initial interest application HERE.

Once you have received approval to move forward with your new network you will be sent instructions on your next steps.
